William F. Detwiler

Bill is a Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Fernbrook Capital Management. Bill has been a growth investor for over 20 years. He also has been a two-time entrepreneur (with one exit), investment banker, lawyer, and accountant.

In 2003, Bill co-founded Watch Hill Partners, a New York-based merchant banking firm. After selling Watch Hill to FBR Capital Markets in 2009, Bill co-founded Three Ocean Partners. Across both firms, Bill led their principal investing platforms. Prior to starting Watch Hill, Bill was an M&A attorney in New York and Philadelphia, and a law clerk for United States District Judge Malcolm Muir of the United States District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania. He started his career at Price Waterhouse. Bill remains a member of the New York bar.

Prior to Fernbrook, Bill was a Managing Director at GLC Advisors & Co., an investment banking firm with offices in New York, Denver and San Francisco. Prior to GLC, he was the Chief Investment Officer of United Safety Ltd., a global provider of industrial safety services.

Bill holds the following degrees: B.S., Political Science & Computer Science, Trinity College; J.D., Villanova University School of Law, where he was a Managing Editor of the Villanova Law Review; and M.S., Accounting, University of Hartford.

He maintains his Series 7, 24, and 63 securities licenses and is a registered representative at Wavecrest Securities LLC (member FINRA/SIPC), an unaffiliated entity of Fernbrook.
